yeah, I was really bummed out. I kept running things through my head, like "did I do something wrong -- cut the brownies wrong, underbake, etc etc..." But in the end, it was probably simply that the judges all liked peanut butter and thought that recipe had the best consumer appeal or whatever. oh well, I will try again next time.

and as an aside, the only beach my kids have ever been to is Pegotty Beach in Scituate.... we go there every summer. That is a nice area that you live in! we love it.

You are the first member of "Royalty" to visit my page and issue lovely comments. Wish I could have gone to Dallas just to witness the entire performance. I did follow it that day with the help of Pillsbury's Official Blog Master, so I was there "rooting" for you to win! YOU should have won. The winning creation (only my opinion) didn't have nearly as much originality or actual "hands on" baking skills that made your presentation stellar.

I know what you mean about the whole Snob thing. That being said though, I have had some excellent tasting recipes that begin with a brownie mix or cake mix.

I've heard buzz that these are very good! We often have that Cinnamon Toast Crunch in the cupboard for my 6 year old (and hubby) so I'll have to give them a shot sometime.
