As I had mentioned in an earlier post, my primary purpose for jetting to the West Coast recently was to attend the Western CMTA Family/Patient/Physician Conference in Palo Alto, California on November 8th. I also knew that our guest of honor Ms. Julie Newmar was going to be attending and I was quite excited at the possibility of spending some time with her. To me, she was not only the slinky and seductive Cat Woman on "Batman", but also the mysterious and volumptious "Stupefyin' Jones" in "Li'l Abner". She also had the lead role in "Stop the World I Want To Get Off", and was the inspiration behind the wildly successful
"To Fong Woo............Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar". In addition to many incredibly successful movie and television appearances, Julie has also modeled for Parisian designer Thierry Mugler and also starred as one of the hottest divas in George Michael's sizzling video "Too Funky". Today, Julie continues to model and recently published the highly successful book "The Conscious Cat Woman Explains Life On Earth". Meeting Julie was indeed very memorable, as she is sweet, sophisticated and still incredibly seductive. After chatting for quite awhile, she even extended an invitation to travel with her into San Francisco to visit with her brother and his friends that evening. Holy Smoke Batman... Believe it or not, this was an offer I had to decline out of respect for my host. ( I would have killed to go with her. After all, how many times in your life do you get an invitation from a member of Hollywood Royalty to go spend the evening with her and her brother? But I also realized that professional protocol dictated that I attend a reception at the home of my host that evening, so I graciously declined and bid her farewell) Oh well....... At least I had the opportunity to meet this incredible woman and enjoy her warm and colorful outlook on life and how she too copes with CMT. Little did I realize that while watching her tangle with Batman, that someday I'd be offered the opportunity to enjoy a purrr...fectly lovely evening in her company as well. "To Julie Newmar, Thanks For A Puurr...fectly Lovely Evening, "The Doc".
