Chocolate Cake Utopia Finally Arrives

I've been working on perfecting my chocolate cake recipe for many, many years. It seems that I think I've achieved the ultimate in chocolate nirvana and feel it can't possibly get any better, until I see another recipe or try someone's cake which adds a new ingredient or a totally different twist. Then like a mad scientist, I'm back at work reinventing the wheel. Well this time, I honestly believe that chocolate cake utopia has finally arrived.  I served this to my Wednesday night friends recently, and the rave reviews more or less said it all.  I can only imagine how insanely decadent this cake would taste with a killer chocolate ganache. Stay tuned.......I'm making one for a client tonight.  You'll get the results and the recipe very shortly.

Cake looks great Doc. As much as I am obsessed with chocolate, I've never been hugely fond of chocolate cake, I find it to be either too dry or too bitter, and no amount of sugar seems to rid of that bitterness (I hate things too sweet anyways). I usually opt for the vanilla cake with chocolate frosting/ganache. But I'm waiting to be convinced one day of a supreme chocolate cake...

That cake looks delicious beyond words...stunning. I love the dusting of sugar & the perfect crumb. It does look like you've acheived Utopia on the choc cake front. Well done...can't wait to see the recipe!

I'm just like that, always looking for the ultimate ultimate recipe! My husband always says, just leave well and good alone - but I can't.
