"Boscoe Bakes"...Paula Deen's "Orange Brownies"

I love and adore Ms. Paula Deen and all that goes with her sunny and warm southern hospitality. She is always fun to watch, even if she is preparing something your cardio vascular system begins to dread immediately. While the "Baroness of Butter" is one of my favorite kitchen performers, I don't usually follow her recipes. Paula is a little heavy handed with butter, cheese and a few other decadent ingredients, but this recipe for "Orange Brownies" is a wonderful creation that looked like it might just be perfect for my fussy Yankee crowd.  And wonderful it was.  The orange flavor married gently to the tender buttery brownie is a perfect match. My guests gobbled them up so fast, that I wasn't even able to get a picture of them sitting back so properly on their platter. This citrus surprise was a big hit, and one that I will definitely make time and again. I did add a teaspoon of "orange emulsion" into the batter, as well as into the glaze.  It brings the fresh, clean orange flavor right to the forefront. So, if you're looking for a bit of sunny southern hospitality in a dessert that won't weigh you down, try these delicious brownies.  They'll have Y'all coming back for more.

Judging by that pic, someone couldn't wait, huh? :)

Seriously, this one sounds truly lovely. And new. I'd never heard of orange brownies before!
