Why the Name......"Boscoe The Cookie Doctor"?

I've been asked by a few people, including Blake Killian from http://www.blakemakes.com  why I chose the name "Boscoe The Cookie Doctor". It's a good question for those of you who don't know me........and that's a zillion people, so obviously the time has come to come clean.  For many years I've been known as "Bosco", a nickname given to me by my best friend's mom.  It was a cooler identity to have as opposed to "stretch" or "beanpole".......(I'm 6'5"), and much easier to pronounce than my last name.  After college and a brief stint on Wall Street, I entered the "confectionary" world, and the combination of "Bosco" and chocolate seemed to be the perfect fit.  Now the drink mix "Bosco," and the quality of the chocolate companies I represented, were night and day. However my nickname seemed to become synonymous with the "tall guy who sold quality chocolate", so since it seemed to work rather nicely (it paid the bills) I decided to keep it.  Many years later, after stints in the nutmeat and spice industries, and the evolution of my culinary skills, a new friend announed that my cookies were" the perfect prescription for everything that ails you."  Apparently she was a cookie maven, and knowing everything there was to know about cookies, she annointed me "The Cookie Doctor". At first I laughed off the notion that I should be known as "The Cookie Doctor", after all......I didn't go to any medical school, and besides, wasn't there some type of exam to take or a bar to pass? Well, LONG STORY SHORT......I can talk a dog off a meat wagon........there was a group of local "cookie experts", who after tasting and testing the chocolate chip cookies made by other "cookie Gods"..........these were the established "benchmark"..........mine were declared the BEST!  So my friends, thats how the name "Bosco The Cookie Doctor" was born.  The "e" in "Bosco" was added only after I discovered my treasured nickname was already in use by other "imposters"....LOL.  And does the name do me justice as far as my other culinary skills are concerned.........that's up to you. Stay tuned...............................

I grew up drinking Bosco. Is it still available? Also I think I'll try your cookie recipe, it looks really good.

Mark your cookies are the best in the world. My mom and Dad try to sneak them all the time, so now I have to hide them. When are you going to make that apple and cranberry dessert again. We love that too.
