Lights, Camera...............Duh!

I love cruising around and checking out the zillions of food blogs that exist today, and one, if not" the key thing" about the ones I visit frequently, is the glorious photography.  AND that is one of the things I am missing and need to address immediately.  For some reason, and I can't explain why, I just overlooked this basic must have and jumped on board without giving it a second thought.  I guess the euphoria of just getting a blog up and feeling like you are a "real" blogger was enough satisfaction at the moment. I am not a photographer at heart, and the only time I become interested in taking pictures is when I'm on vacation.  Then I singlehandedly wipe out all photo supplies within a 50 mile radius and work my camera to death! Needless to say, I've never done any food style photo shoots before, so I somehow conveniently pushed that thought aside.  Now however, I am embarrased, because this is one of those things that falls into the "most obvious is the most oblivious" categories. So my friends, forgive my faux pas, and stay tuned.  I've got a new camera to buy and a lot of work to do.  I promise you'll approve  (Fingers crossed)

Mark...........Everything you make is outstanding, but I especially love this cake. I hope you have it out every week, because I am a nut for it. I love it, but my diet doesn't.

Hi Mark!
Thanks for visiting my blog. Yours looks like it's off to a great start. I only bought my camera about a month ago, and before that was using a crummy older camera. If it helps, we went to Best Buy and ended up with a Cannon SD1000. It's great! Good luck with the blog... i'm sure you've already discovered how addictive it is!

Hello! Sorry I was slow to respond- we're in the process of buying our first condo, so it's been a busy week! But the SD1000 was about $200 at best buy, and I think it's a perfect all-around camera. If you have a bigger budget, I'm sure there are more "bells and whistles" types of cameras, but this is a great one for me. Have fun looking, and get ideas online before you shop.
