Dorie Greenspan........."You're My Savior".......Classic Banana Bundt Cake It Is!

This morning, for the first time in over a week and a half, I've begun to feel human once again.  As mentioned in my last post, I encountered some problems with a couple of my teeth.  It seems that they had become infected (a HUGE abscess would later be unearthed) and were the cause of grave pain.  Mind you, I've got a very high tolerance for pain, so when I am hurting, it is usually something BIG and VERY expensive to fix.  Naturally the same goes for my teeth! So after a week of living on pain killers, antibiotics and countless bouts with nausea, I had the two culprits removed. I will spare you all of the other unpleasant details, since after all, this is supposed to be a blog all about the joys of food, cooking, baking and all things yummy, fun and gastronomical. The nastiest part of all, the bill, I am still digesting. So why you ask, am I starting to feel human again, and in fact, why am I smiling now from ear to ear.  Well, in today's mail I just (literally) received my copy of Dorie Greenspan's "Baking From my home to yours".  And on the binder is a lovely, warm and very SOOTHING picture of a very "toothy" Dorie Greenspan who is whispering to me........"It's OK now.  The pain is gone. Time to get busy".  So, I whipped open the book and the very FIRST recipe I landed on was for "Classic Banana Bundt Cake" on page 190. PERFECT!  Yesterday during my first non "dental related" outing of the week, I picked up a bunch of bananas just on a hunch. Now I know why. And by the way, I mean no disrespect to the wonderful group of bakers at Tuesdays with Dorie.  I've inquired about joining that terrific group as well, but before I become an official member, I MUST go ahead and make this cake. You could say it's my way of "biting back".............

Thanks so much. I know you are going to think I am crazy, and in fact I really shouldn't even commit this to print, but the moment I opened the box and saw her book, it was very surreal. The lingering pain just vanished, and I knew what I had to do!
